FOR HARD KEEPERS AND AGED HORSES probiotics chelated minerals and vitamin E, designed for the care
and maintenance of mature and hard keeping horses. Extremely palatable,
easy to chew and pelleted, AllegraŽ Senior Equine Formula contains
organic selenium, yeast culture, enzymes and added flaxseed oil to help
provide fuel which supports muscles, digestion, good skin, hair coat and
hoof condition.
FEEDING DIRECTIONS:
AllegraŽ Senior Equine Formula is designed to be fed alone as a
complete and balanced diet for the older horse. Formulated with high
quality fiber AllegraŽ Senior Equine Formula does not require
additional hay. Feed as the sole ration at a rate that maintains the
desired body condition of the horse. The following chart may be used as
a starting guideline. Gradually adjust up or down as needed in order to
maintain the horses desired body condition. Provide free access to clean
water and salt at all times.

POOR
DENTAL CONDITION: For horses with extremely poor dental
condition, Feed AllegraŽ Senior Equine Formula as a wet gruel. Simply
mix the pellet with an equal volume of water; allow to stand for 5
minutes before feeding. Add more or less water as preferred.
WINTER-FEEDING: Cold weather can increase body heat
loss. To compensate for the body's increased maintenance requirement for
heat, the amount of feed offered may be increased by 10-15%. When mixing
as gruel, use warm water in the winter.
SUPPLEMENTAL HAY USAGE: AllegraŽ Senior Equine Formula
is designed as a complete feed. However, if hay is offered the amount of
AllegraŽ Senior Equine Formula can be reduced by 1 lb. for each 2 lbs.
of hay fed. If feeding less than 8 lbs. of AllegraŽ Senior Equine
Formula per day also feed 1/2 lb. of AllegraŽ Super Plus Equine Formula
to ensure an adequate intake of critical nutrients needed for normal
maintenance and overall good health.
GENERAL FEEDING GUIDELINES:
Change to AllegraŽ Senior Equine Formula from other equine products
gradually over a 5-7 day period to ensure a successful transition. Do
not overfeed or offer AllegraŽ Senior Equine Formula on a free choice
basis. Many older horses will benefit from 3-4 smaller feeding per day.
Always try to maintain a regular feeding schedule. It is important to
provide fresh clean water, plain salt and adequate forage at all times.
Do not allow hot exercised horses free access to water until they have
cooled-out.
